Round Mirrors For a Quick Home Update

December 20, 2017 By Mary Ann Pickett 13 Comments

Round mirrors look fresh right now (although I have been using them for years).  They can add light and dimension to almost any room in your home.  In fact, I just added this 30″ round mirror to our dining room.  I like the more modern juxtaposition with the antique Napoleon III bookcase.Rejuvenation 24″, 30″, 36″ in three finishes   This is in the oil rubbed bronze finish.  The citrus was just picked from my client’s yard.  We used the same 36″ mirror in her dining room…

We purchased a less expensive version in my daughter’s apartment above her sofa (I need to take a photo). It’s from Urban Outfitters in black or pale pink (sort of a rubber finish, 36″).

My friend, Annie’s new bamboo mirror is pretty…Bamboo 18″, 28.5″, 40″  In fact, you should check out her whole home decorated for the holidays at Most Lovely Things.

This is one of my favorite Christmas mantel decorations from our last home (that we kept to rent out…I left the mirror there). The above mirror is no longer available, but this one is similar.  White Convex Mirror

I’m really looking forward to spending time with the family this weekend!  Playing games, going to church, eating, watching our favorite movies and long walks with the dogs.

Wishing you and your family a happy, peaceful Christmas and a great new year!

You know, I don’t have one round mirror in my home. They look so fresh and modern. Hadn’t thought about that idea.Good for you. Love that Xmas vision on your mantle. Happy Holidays!

    Hi Mary Ann,
Round mirrors are so adaptable, aren’t they? Just love the look with a square or rectangle piece of furniture underneath to anchor it like you did. Incidentally, I have been meaning to thank you (since before Thanksgiving even!) for the idea and place to purchase the little metal baskets with voltives. Holy smokes, I’ve been using them for every dinner party and Holiday sit-down-meal for company we’ve had! Thank you sooo much for the web site to purchase these little buggers! Everyone comments how lovely they are,and of course, I want to give them your web site so they can follow your Blog. P.S. Thanks as well for the voltive tip, i.e. Pottery Barn. Have a really wonderful Holiday with your family and give Chief a hug from all of us out here in Blogland.

You know you are totally right and I hadn’t realised it until I read through this, round mirrors certainly give everything a little lift, antique or modern and like you, I rather like mixing the two because I think they compliment each other perfectly and each one brings out the best thing in the other. But I digress! Round mirrors, something I shall certainly be looking into in the New Year, thanks for the heads up on this. In the meantime wishing you a very Happy Christmas xx

I am one of the lucky ones not to have missed any of your posts! I would not be happy if I didn’t get them all!

I love your round mirror and I’ve been looking for a smaller one, around 24″, to put above the tall chest of drawers in our guest bedroom. Seems like all the ones I love are too big. But I’ll keep looking!

    Have a blessed Christmas!

When I saw the post I thought, hmm, too modern for me. But you show such a variety of styles, including with some beautiful antiques. Round mirrors are more versatile than I had realized.

I have a vintage convex mirror with patina that I didn’t show that’s not modern. For me, I like to mix in a little modern…but I know it’s not for everyone. Thanks for commenting!!
