Flying from New York to Los Angeles, the option to connect to the internet
pops up on my computer screen. For the duration of the flight above 30,000 feet,
I can go online with GoGo Inflight Internet for $12.95. Let’s try it out.
My photos up load v e r y s l o w l y. The internet speed seems to fluctuate
depending on the signals across the country.
On to my update…
My friend Netta, from Orlando and I met in New York City this past weekend and stayed at
the brand new Mondrian Soho hotel. We had a couple of minor service issues,
but for the most part we had a FAB time.
This is the courtyard we entered when we arrived in the early afternoon.
It has a little edgy “downtown” vibe with the exposed brick and graffiti.
Hey, the Mondrian uses the same cement urns as I have in the front of my house here.
The Morgans Hotel Group (owner of other boutique hotels, such as the Hudson in New York,
the Delano in Miami Beach and the Mondrian on Sunset Boulevard)
recently opened the Mondrian Soho on Crosby Street.
Netta registers in the reception area.
Benjamin Noriega Ortiz designed the hotel with inspiration from Jean Cocteau’s movie,
“La Belle et la Bete” (Beauty and The Beast). Notice the floral motif reference?
Ortiz uses a significant amount of “sky blue” much like the color outside my window right now.
The view out the window…
The restaurant/bar has an indoor/outdoor green house feel.
we had signature Champagne cocktails in the bar…
The captain just announced we have another hour and forty minutes until we arrive at LAX.
Time for a nice nap.
