Hello! Today I have five favorites to share like a tasty and easy Ginger-Lime Chicken recipe (that we are making on repeat), a television show that will make you smile (it does for me), and some Cool L.A. Style! Cindy and Annie are also sharing theirs!
Five Favs: Ginger Lime Chicken, Fun TV, L.A. Style and More
1. What To Watch On TV
I don’t know about you but with all that’s going on, I’m not in the mood to watch weird or disturbing television shows. Howard and I have been trying different shows and then dropping them by the second or third episode. But this one makes me smile and we’ve watched seven episodes so far!
Kim’s Convenience on Netflix
“While running a convenience store in Toronto, members of a Korean-Canadian family deal with customers, each other, and the evolving world around them.” It’s cute.
2. Kendall Jenner’s Cool L.A. Home
It totally has a relaxed, global, SoCal vibe and I love her kitchen with the copper pans and forest green cabinetry.
She seems pretty normal for an uber-rich Kardashian sister.
3. The Nordstrom Sale
The Nordstrom Sale is on now for cardmembers (Early Access). This is a good time to buy basics on sale. I’ve noticed that if somethings are sold out now, they may be available again when the regular sale starts.
Wireless Bra • classic Wayfarer Sunglasses • long cardigan (read why I like these here) • comfy long P.J.s (other colors) • Sugar lip care • comfy short P.J.s • Basic leggings • Madewell leather sneakers
4. Easy Ginger Lime Chicken
If you are one of those people that hates mayonnaise (not me but they are out there)…trust me about using it for a marinade for grilled boneless skinless chicken. It keeps it moist. I cooked this ginger lime chicken in a pan since we don’t have a BBQ but it would be great cooked that way. Howard loved it.
Four ingredients for this Ginger Lime Chicken!

This recipe is from the NY Times. ALI SLAGLE is the author.
- 1 ½ to 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
- Kosher salt and black pepper
- ⅓ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp lime zest (from about 2 limes), plus lime wedges, for serving
- 1 tbsp finely grated fresh ginger (from a 3-inch piece of peeled ginger)
-
Pat the chicken dry and season all over with 1 1/2 teaspoons salt. In a medium bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, lime zest and ginger; season with salt and pepper. Add the chicken to the mayonnaise mixture and stir to coat. (The chicken can sit in the marinade for up to 8 hours in the fridge. Let come to room temperature before cooking.)
-
To grill: Heat a grill to medium-high. Grill the chicken over direct heat until cooked through and juices run clear, about 5 minutes per side for thighs and about 4 minutes per side for breasts, turning as necessary to avoid burning.
-
To cook in a skillet (which is what I did): Heat a large skillet over medium-high. Cook the chicken until juices run clear, about 5 minutes per side for thighs and about 4 minutes per side for breasts.
Using this micro-planer zester as we have really made it a cinch!
4. Our Favorite New Kitchen Accessory
We love this new cutting board with a collapsible tray. It all can go in the dishwasher! Comes in all black, too. The tray is good for catching juice, vegetable peels, etc. making for easy clean-up.

Thanks for visiting. On Wednesday we have a special podcast about The Collected Look and a nice give-away!
Take care,
Mary Ann
The chicken looks so delicious! How did you prepare the snow peas?
I have never made a marinade with mayonnaise. What is the purpose of the mayo vs using olive oil?
Thanks in advance for educating me!
I’m not sure but it’s really good and stays moist. Try it. I might make it tonight 😊
Definitely going to try that show tonight! Any chance that your cute marble pot (holding the basil) is still available? I have a nice big pot growing outdoors (we use A LOT of basil), but we just adopted a new male dog, and he has “claimed” it. So it seems time we trade it for an indoor version!
Oh no! Well, I bought that marble container at the SF Flower Mart so I am not sure how you could get another. But you could probably google it. Thanks for commenting.
I needed a new show recommendation, thanks! And, of course the Ginger chicken recipe sounds great – It has Ginger! 😉 😂 Seriously tho, we just made a Greek lemon chicken recipe from Cottage and Vine and it was delicious.
You need lots of ginger recipes, Ginger!
LOVE THAT SHOW!
I am making that ginger lime chicken this week yum! I hate mayo but don’t mind it as a marinade (you can’t taste it!). Wow a Kardashian with taste. I need to check that out!
Thank you for the recommendations!
When I saw “Kim’s Convenience” mentioned, I had to laugh … my family enjoys watching it too. Here is a recommendation of what to watch for you: “Schitt’s Creek”, starring Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hare and Dan Levy.
Enjoy!
Mary Ann,
The chicken recipe will go on our menu for next week. Yummy. I love the chopping block and think I’ll buy one for each of our daughter-in-laws for Christmas. You can never start too early, right?
xo,
Karen
I actually bought that cutting board for Howard, Karen, since he has been cooking so much…but I’m on clean-up so I really like it!
I made that chicken last week! It is delicious!
I know, Jill! Can you believe how easy it is? Hope you cooked it in your pretty backyard!
5 more great things I’m going to check out. We can always use recommendations for something good to watch on TV and I like cute! And how gorgeous is Kendall Jenner? She seems to have a good head on her shoulders. Can’t wait to try the chicken recipe, it made my mouth water. I think I remember that cutting board from “Shark Tank” several years ago. It was a very touching story of a family carrying on their late fathers dream invention.
Happy Sunday from very hot Glendale!
Hey, Gail…this is like a weekly phone call where I tell you what I like. And the cutting board was on Shark Tank….I read the story in the Williams Sonoma store. What things are you loving lately?
