Usually, I check Tablet’s prices and then the price for the same hotel on the hotel’s website and another source like Kayak (which compares other good sources like Travelocity, Hotwire, Expedia, Hotels.com, and Priceline).
About three years ago, my stylish friend, Netta recommended joining the Tablet Plus program for the amazing upgrades like the next higher level accommodation. The Tablet Plus program includes 350 hotels costs $195/year (which pays for itself if you plan to stay in their hotels a number of nights). We have been happy with the program so far.
Here are some examples of the extra’s we received…
The Bowery Hotel, NYC
We received a larger room, a fruit plate, bottle of wine and a 4 pm check-out.
The Crosby Street Hotel, New York City
drink coupons for the fun bar below.
(which was a deal considering we had our “always hungry” teen-aged son with us)
in addition to a room upgrade.
I especially like Elle Decor’s travel articles from a design standpoint.
in this beautiful building until I was born.
Best wishes,
Mary Ann
I love your travel ideas. We were just in Sacramento and can say our stay was not nearly as nice. Wish I would have seen this before we traveled there. Also, wanted to mention the Cottages at Cabot Cove in Kennebunkport, Maine. We went there a couple of years ago durring the fall and the cottages were very charming and very cozy.
I'm going to check that site out! Thanks for sharing. What fabulous rooms!
Just ordered the tasseled West Elm towel- so cute!
Tablet sounds like the best thing, ever. Thanks for sharing.
beautiful!
i'm with you…
I check out their site even if we're not going to travel… I love looking at the lovely hotels and their interiors.
Haven't heard of Tablet, so thanks for the tips! These hotels are so gorgeous and stylish! You are definitely lucky to have stayed in some nice hotels. Anyway, I can't help but fall in love with the pretty green tufted headboard with the floral detail. The Citizen Hotel is definitely very chic! I am particularly drawn to the bedroom and the fabulous red lobby area!
Thanks for entering my giveaway! Wishing you the best of luck!

What a wonderful post and lovely rooms! We've been blessed to have gotten to travel all over the world and have stayed in some wonderful rooms! One of my favorites had an extra menu on the bed – you could order from nine pillows for your bed! Pretty snazzy! 🙂
be a sweetie,
Shelia 😉
I could travel with you!!! I have never heard of Tablet!
I absolutely love a beautiful hotel room!
A Senator! How exciting! WOW!
THANK YOU for your comment about my upcoming book!
Have a PRETTY day!
Kristin
When it comes to hotel rooms, I usually don't think of stylish and affordable at the same time. These rooms are wonderful though. I'll definitely check out Tablet.
Thanks for the tip and thanks for the nice comment on my figs post.

Great info! Didn't know about Tablet. Thanks for the tips!
Wow, I thought I was a pretty informed traveler but I am a rank amateur compared to you! I'd never heard of Tablet and will definitely be checking them out – although I think my only travel plans for a while will be trips to Dallas – LOL!!
Thanks for the great tips, Mary Ann!
I really appreciate your posts, they're all very all done. Good job!
Have a great week!

Those hotel rooms look amazing! We have some similar schemes over here, I love a holiday and a great deal too! X
Thanks for the tip on tablet. These rooms look like homes rather than hotels. Definitely learned something for my travel today. Mona
Sounds like a fabulous source. I only wish I traveled more and had more use for it. I am in Maine visiting my daughter at camp staying at one of my favorite inns!! I sat next to Katie Couric at dinner last night – guess it's not such a secret any more. Also – did you see that the Bel Air in Los Angeles is hosting an incredible contest on facebook? I discovered it when researching a piece on their new renovation. Hope you're having a lovely weekend.
Wow gorgeous hotel rooms Mary Ann!!! Loved them all!
I like the part about the always starving teenage son! Mine is only 12 and is already starting that faze!!!
WOW you lucky girl! Those rooms are amazing! And the places you've been too…I'm so jealous!
So many beautiful hotels.
We don't travel so I've stayed in very few lovely hotels during my lifetime.
All of these are something out of movies. :))

Wow Mary Ann, Tablet sounds amazing!!
Leave it to you to find such amazing hotels!
How long are in Sac?
Wish we could meet up!

Beautiful rooms, and Rocky looks very comfortable there.

The world 's most beautiful photograph of nature is very easy to see from your home window. It is best place for weekend. Well, you shared such a very great travel tips with us.
I get the emails on Tablet travel and always check them, but did not know about the Tablet plus. Sounds like a great deal if you are a frequent traveler!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks for the tip ~
Delightful! I knew about Kayak but not about Tablet Hotels. I love the small hotels I have found in Seattle and NYC and Chicago, but this sounds like Tablet has done all of the leg work, plus the extras… merci, mon amie!

Genie
Thank you for all of the great travel tips! I had no idea about any of them. And how cool that your dad was a state senator!

One thing I have learned is if you are going to photograph a hotel room do it FIRST thing before you even put your bags down and it gets "lived in." I love Trip Advisor, too.
Never heard of Tablet — a fabulous tip, thank you!
I too clip those Elle Decor travel pieces all the time, and my "To Travel To" file is bursting at the seams with those and other "wish I were there" articles. Must figure out a way to get to some of those spots soon!!
Oh, I just love that first photo! And I love boutique hotels so I will have to check out Tablet. I like to read TripAdvisor and Where to Stay.com. They are helpful because they have reviews.
Have a great weekend! I hope it is cooler where you live…it is unbelievably HOT in New Jersey!

Mary Ann, I love the interesting boutique-y feel to the hotels you featured! We'll have to check out Tablet….thanks for posting about it.
What a fabulous post! I will definitely check out Tablet. And you also gave me a great idea to photograph the hotel rooms that we stay in. Wish I had done that when we were in Santa Fe! Loved that room!
The Citizen looks like a classic hotel. It's decorated so nicely! And they let you have your dog? Too bad I'm not going to Sacramento…!
Thanks for the tip! ~Delores
Thanks for the tip on Tablet. My husband travels a lot, so that usually means we cash in Marriott points for family trips. Not nearly as stylish as the places you've featured, but traveling with 4 kids can be pretty pricey. I'm going to pass this info on to him 😉
Wow so beautiful……..this has me on high alert to looking into Tablet hotels next time we travel! I am going to send this post to a friend who is planning not one not two but three trips (yea I am jealous too) but they just sold their house and decided to rent and travel for a year, how great is that! She will enjoy this…thanks!
Great idea to use Tablet!
