This handsome, over-sized bulletin board was made for my friend to her specifications at
the local frame shop.
In my New Office Loft Space, I featured this bulletin board below
dressed up with fabric.

I unscrewed the cork board from the frame and
stapled remnant fabric to the back.
Easy.
The board comes painted in dove gray (above), white and green
from Home Decorator’s.
In the photo from “Southern Living” below, the memo board
frame is painted the same color
as the cabinetry for a custom look.
Use more than one board.
Here are feed sack memo boards grouped together available from Wisteria.
These linen memo boards from Pottery Barn come in
the large 48″ x 36″ size (for family organization above and art display below).
or the smaller 24″ x 36″ size.
(this family must never lose the keys or scissors)
Here is a good looking brushed silver and sisal covered bulletin board from Ballard Designs.
Another friend displays family photos on hers, as well as, inspiration for her
jewelry business. Her builder made the board. She covered it in a raffia fabric and then
took it to the frame shop for framing. Great idea to mount sconces to light the work space.

How funny! I was just looking at a wall in my son's bedroom and thinking about how great a giant bulletin board would look! 🙂 Thanks for the great tips and ideas and for sharing them with us at Inspiration Friday this past weekend!

I don't have one and I'm in need of one. Now I know it can look this GOOD!!!!

Mary Ann, I don't have a memo board but I do have a lovely antique frame that I have wanted to make into a memo (or vision board) but have not figured out where to get cork and backing. You've inspired me so I'm going to make it a priority!
Side note- LOVE the peachy dress on the NY vision board- makes me think of so many happy things!
Sweet idea!
I'm currently working on recovering my bulletin board with a burlap fabric. Love all the inspiration pics but the one with the lights mounted on is fantastic!
I am a new follower! I just found your blog and can't wait to see more!

Lovely designs. I hope I can make these at my home. I will definitely give it a try.
Nope, but it sure looks like I need one!!
Love what you did Mary Ann. I have one but needs a facelift..
Ur message board looks GREAT! I love the fabric u selected too!

Thanks and have a wonderful week!
Hi Mary Ann-
Love how you took the generic board and made it yours with the addition of the pretty fabric. It looks beautiful and a great place to pin up your inspiration now. I used to have one that took up an entire wall. I recently took it down and only left one portion of it up. It is covered in a fabric similar to yours.
My best- Diane
oh, I love that idea!! fabulous!
I love all of the inspiration and how yours turned out. Gorgeous! Please stop by http://www.laughloveandcraft.com and link up to my Share the Wealth Wednesday Link Party! I'm your newest follower!
I have a huge bulletin board in my office and have never prettied it up! I think you have a lot of wonderful examples here to give me some inspiration.
I'm about to hire a high school student to scan all of our photos to make CD's. But seeing those photos on the boards makes me want to keep the hard copies, too. That, however, would defeat the purpose.
Lovely memo board–thanks for the inspiration. My favorite ones were the ones from Wisteria made with grain sacks. I hadn't seen those before–definitely a project I may try.
The board you made is just lovely! I could have a board in every room! I love how they can make an impact but be changed up so easily. Great post! I want to get started on another one now!

Mary Ann, I gave you a special "Shout-out" on my Roger's Garden post today.
I love your new memo board.
I make them all the time. You can never have enough. I have giving many out as gifts.
Dee
I love your office even more now 🙂
I don't have a bulletin board in my home, but you've featured some great ideas here. I like how you've covered the cork with fabric. It looks custom and like you spent a million bucks!
Making one has been on my to-do list for half of forever. If I had one, I could post my reminder on it haha!! I love these images, especially the one with the lights on it. Great stuff.
Your bulletin board looks great- the fabric is beautiful! Thanks also for sharing those lovely inspiration photos.
I love bulletin boards. I only have a small one in my laundry room but I should put more in my house – I always need them! I love the fabric you chose for yours!
Mary Ann,
Great post of idea possibilities. We have five boards: kitchen, husband's office, three in my studio and we'll be adding another in the garage.
Great for vision boards, flag your attention, ideas, short term items and a great many more.
Bette
Thanks for checking out my blog! I love yours and am now following. It'll be fun getting to know you via the blog world!
ciao from Newport
great post! especially love the shabby chic board!!

Tessa
Yep, got one in my kitchen and a large one above my desk. I made the one in the kitchen and simply covered the one in my office. Love 'em both. They really are so handy.
Lots of great examples. I have a very large one from Ballard in my office. It has a white frame which matches my Pottery Barn office furniture – it's perfect for someone like me who needs so see everything going on!!
I love all of these examples. The bigger the better when it comes to bulletin boards. The only space I could come up with for a bulletin board were the inside doors of my desk/armoire.
Wow, it's like you read my mind! I just painted my little bulletin board white. I know, nothing fancy, I didn't even cover it with fabric…Uh..Anyway, but it's so amazing to have one! I have little quotes on it, inspirational images and little reminders! I love it! I LOVE the fabric you used on yours!!!!!!!! It's not screaming and soooooo calmp and beautiful!!! xoxo
You have inspired me to give my memo board a makeover!!! I have a big vintage frame that does the job, but I think I am going to give it a face lift! I am loving the linen… Happy weekend! X
I have a memo board in the kitchen that I made out of wine corks. Just bought a frame and used an x-acto knife to slice a small piece off each cork to make them flat, and secured them with a hot glue gun.
I like the other ideas that you posted, I might need to make a different one for our office!
Linda
I'd love to have a memo board to casually pin things. It'll be probably more of an inspiration board and I'd go with frameless…, love the canvas look.
SO funny that you posted on this, because since I started using Pinterest, I have been DYING to actually physically pin things onto a bulletin board! Definitely making one soon!! Great ideas!
I do have one in my home with nailhead trim. Love all of the ones here, too!
I'd love to have a giant one too! Yours turned out wonderfully 🙂
Enjoy your weekend.
Blessings,
Marcia
I just bought a bulletin board for my son's room. Great inspiration for how I can give the plain board a little lift.
I love all these huge boards! I have a big one that I've been needing to recover for almost 2 years now but I can't decide on what fabric. I love the soft fabric you used as well as the plain on the other boards.
Love these boards! You did a fabulous job creating yours. 🙂 I was actually thinking of making one soon, so I can start putting all of my ideas in front of me, instead of in file folders, etc. Happy Weekend! 🙂
Mary Ann,
These boards look fun to make. This well be my project for next week.
Have a great weekend.

I love the idea of the floor to ceiling bulletin board. I have a space by the kitchen door that would be perfect for! Glad I saw your post:>)
So much inspiration here! Thanks for putting this together.
Abby
Great boards and no, I don't have one. I might after seeing these.
Love this post…and its so timely. For my future little office and its quite small but oh so cozy, I want to have a giant memo board and I love the idea of painting the frame like the cabinetry for a true custom look. So many beautiful ideas here, thanks..am bookmarking this post!
I don't have a bulletin board in my home. I am such a neat freak and I think it would drive me crazy trying to keep it neat all the time. I love looking at others inspiration boards and secretly wish I could do one, but I know me and It would be one more thing for me to keep neat, Great line-up of images, Happy weekend,Kathysue
The one you've made is so lovely and pretty, though I also really like the ones from feed sack? I have an oversized one which is a canvas I painted and stretched ribbon along to hang up all my cuttings etc. Have a lovely weekend, Love from London xo
The fabric you chose is so soft & pretty! Our memo board is part of a whole message center wall. It's just the plain cork. We had some leftover cork tiles from our kitchen remodel, and used them for continuity. Love those feed sack ones! Thanks for sharing.
