This is a follow-up to this post on our newly remodeled master bedroom.
The bedroom color inspiration came from a duvet cover
bought at Macy’s a couple years ago.
The blue paint on the walls is called “My Painter Wants to Shoot Me.”
In other words, it was a custom mix that we played with over a few days.
In the end, I would say it is a cross between Benjamin Moore’s Glass Slipper and Blue Lace.
The ceiling is Benjamin Moore’s Super White.
The painting below is of Newport Beach’s Back Bay.

I took the pillow to our local monogram shop for the over sized monogram.
The gas fireplace is original but we replaced the grout and added new cement logs.
The petite sun burst mirror is from Wisteria.
The crystal lamps were from Williams Sonoma Home.
The ivory linen drapes were custom made (with a Parisian pleat) and a
blue velvet border that matches the newly recovered bergere chairs.
All the fabric was purchased at a discount fabric outlet–more about that here.
The silver drapery rods and rings are from Restoration Hardware.
The crystal chandelier was given to us by my mother.
It was in our home while I was growing up.
I bought this bench at an antique store in Florida and recently recovered it with a
Kravet raffia fabric and nail heads. The carved legs were originally from an old bed frame.
The dhurrie rug was a deal from Joss and Main.
It came out darker than I expected from my computer screen
(non-returnable–something to remember when ordering from there)
but I think it is fine.
The end tables are from Noir Furniture and the magazine baskets are from Target.
The rustic wide planked wood floors are from Provenza Old World Classics.
This floor is throughout the house and is relatively easy to maintain and
gives us the casual, beach cottage feel.
Thanks for visiting.

Hey friend! You’ve got a interesting weblog here. I truly liked it. Very nice post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say that I have really enjoyed browsing your blog posts.

Hi there,
I was wondering if you could share your flooring choice of the Provenza Classics? I love your blog and am inspired by your choices of style with quality!! Am doing pricing and research for wood floors and getting mixed messages about engineered hardwood versus solid hardwood over concrete slab, etc.. Thank you agin for sharing your home with us readers!
It's Old World in Oak…one of the lighter shades (not sure which–but it is getting even darker with age). We really like the engineered wood at the beach with al the moisture…and we are on a slab, too.
You are awesome – thank you so much! Thanks so much for sharing your style and home/design with all of us blog 'stalkers':) Thank you again.
Simply- superb.
So peaceful. Is your painting by David Damm?
I love your attention to detail, Mary Ann. Your master is beautiful…..this room has such a nice feel to it!
The master bedroom in my house is practically the same color and I have been searching for a duvet and I love what you have. I am sad to hear you got it a couple years ago. Anyway love the lamps rug and pillows. Ahh this is just what I am looking for in our master.
I think the darker rug is perfect. Something to provide a little contrast to all the lovely light blue and white. But all that matters is what you think!
Wonderful reveal!

Mary Ann,
Your bedroom is so beautiful! I love all the personal touches from that gorgeous chandelier to the perfect monogram on the pillow! And I love the rug (and the cute dog on it!) Great job!

Oh wow that's what I imagine heaven looks like. The paint color is sooo pretty (definitely worth the evil eye from your painter) and I love all the details! The rug is fab, the lamps I have coveted for years and the sun mirror is perfection above the square fireplace. You are so friggin' talented!
Have a GREAT weekend!!

Your paint color's name reminds me of a country song, entitled "How can I kiss your lips at night, after you chewed my ass out all day long"!
Seriously, it's a gorgeous room and I'm sure you're thrilled with it, as you should be!

Your bedroom is absolutely gorgeous. I love the little monogrammed pillow & the comforter. Do you love your hardwood in your bedroom? Our carpet needs to be replaced & I think I would really rather have hardwood.
Love it! Love the calm feeling of the room. Off to make my bed and dust my room 🙂
Oh, I was waiting for that paint color! I loved the name you gave to it though! 🙂
It's so nice of you to take the time to prepare this post giving us all the sources. Thank you, sweetie.
Have a wonderful day!

Thank you, Mary Ann, for being so generous with your sources. The room is just beautiful and tranquil.

So crazy…I bought that same rug [on Overstock I think] for a client and it was definitely darker and a slightly different color that it appeared. We ended up using it in another room so it was all good. Your room is beautiful and peaceful.
Maryann, its such a beautiful and tranquil space. Love that pale blue on your duvet, its as you know one of my favorite colors and will be in my own master bedroom. Just beautiful, it must be like walking into a cloud at the end of a long day!
Mary Ann, your room turned out so beautiful. I love the drapes and those chairs. The colors are so calm and restful. Love it all!
Really so beautiful! What a relaxing retreat. Love it! I'm enjoying my new candle right now and you are so sweet to include my vignette in one of your presentations. I feel so honored. Thank you!
i really love the design on the pillow cases and the chandelier!<3
Wow, it turned out amazing!! I love the wall color. The bench is awesome and so is the rug. What a fabulous job you did.
This is such a gorgeous room. Relaxing and elegant. Exactly how a master bedroom should be!
Dear Mary Ann,
Looks wonderful. Enjoy!
Thank you for your recent visit. I just found
your commment in my spam. Not sure why that would have happened.
Have a wonderful day.

Mary Ann,
This master bedroom is just breathtaking and so chic! I love the soft calm look. You really did a beautiful job from the paint colors to the chandy. Just gorgeous!
Yvonne
Beautiful choices–I really love it all, but the lamps and the floors are on my list now!
Enjoyed reading all the details. My favorite is the chandy b/c of the sentimental value. I must have missed Joss and Main the day that rug was on there! Lovely!
This room is gorgeous, right down to the last detail. The bedding is stunning!
Thanks for sharing Mary Ann,

I love everything about your bedroom. The soft colors, the floors, all the perfect accessories, and that lovely chandelier – I bet you can't wait to go to bed at night. You've done a fabulous job putting it all together!
Beautiful details! I love the rug color.
Thanks for all the details! Your bedroom is just gorgeous! Love the large monogrammed pillow! And the chandelier is so special – awesome that your mom gave it to you. Thanks for sharing.
Mary Ann,
You have been busy!
Thank you for sharing this gorgeous room!

Gorgeous. Love the larger monogram.
Beautiful! Buying rugs online is so tricky but I think this one looks great.

I love the calming effect of the blue walls and striking white ceiling! This is such an adorable makeover, and all your colors are beautifully matched. I could never dislike any in this room , because they are my fave! Thanks for sharing your makeover. Hugs! Loretta
The rug was one of my favorite items in the room – I think it looks great. Lots of natural light flowing in…a true getaway of a master.
Thanks for the sources:) our master bedroom is upholstered in same fabric as your bench. I never tire of it. I have been eyeing the PB quilt , I may have to take the plunge.
I love all the details..I had a feeling that the painting was of a local spot…it's perfect. The details on the bench…gorgeous and how wonderful to have a chandelier from your childhood home. I love that petite sunburst mirror. I think that would be perfect on my daughter's collage wall in her sitting room. Love the over sized monogram and the paint color looks perfect and you seem way too nice to annoy your painter!

Thanks so much for this post. I have been looking at the Sandalwood quilt and shams at PB but wasn't sure about the quality. Once I saw them on your bed, that was all the endorsement it needed. I went straight to their website and ordered them. I like a summer/spring look and a fall/winter look. With the proper pillows, this will be the fall/winter. Unfortunately, my PB coupon had expired. I follow you regularly and have you on my side bar. And by the way, I have a pillow fetish, too.
Beautiful room!
Beautiful! Very serene and calming. I typically don't favor blues in decorating, but your bedroom has changed that! I love the subtle wall color and how the linens and the rug work together. Very nice!
Claudia
Thanks for the details. I mulled over that Joss & Mann rug – looks great.
