Recently, I turned the two chairs near the windows (makes sense why they call them “bay” windows) to face each other so that both chairs have a bay view. This arrangement meant a footstool would come in handy.
And actually, small ottomans or stools have so many uses! I picked up this reasonably priced soft cube ottoman. Little stools are always on my radar as they are so versatile and can add color and/or texture. At CB2 a couple of days ago, I sat on this leather stool.
I like the fact that the top is flat and firm so that you could use it as a side table, too. Little ottomans can provide extra seating without taking up much space.
