My mother and sister live together in San Diego, California. I’m here helping my elderly mom with errands and Christmas preparations while trying to give my sister a break. It’s so great to have quality time with them. And I am excited for the rest of the family to arrive.
Just north of here is the coastal town of Encinitas, where my beautiful client, Julie and her family live. It was time for her master bathroom to get a lift out of the 90’s. With the travertine flooring, we decided to keep the “California Mediterranean Style” and update it.
And now…
Floor by Provenza Old World in Warm Sand
We kept the existing cabinets and painted them Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter.
The mirrors are from Restoration Hardware with under mount rectangular sinks. The walls are painted BM Linen White.
Julie found the hand towels at Tuesday Morning. But they were in the bath size so she cut them in two and sewed the seams!
She likes the Caesarstone Frosty Carrina countertops much better (easier to clean than the tiles with grout).
As children growing up in California, we were taught that Father Junipero Serra (1713-84), from Mallorca, Spain, built missions from San Diego to San Francisco. This influenced much of our coastal Mediterranean style.
Walker Zanger Duquesa tile
This is a beautiful hand painted tile. But we had a problem with a few of the tiles. When the painter finished and pulled off the blue tape protecting the edges, some of the design came off, too. Walker Zanger rectified the situation.
The tub is from Hydro Systems, Tribeca, Metro Collection.
Contractor: BA Worthing, Carlsbad
McNeal Tile Installation, Encinitas
Wishing you and your family peace.
¡Feliz Navidad!
