Hello, my name is Mary Ann Pickett.
Welcome to life in San Francisco in a 1920’s apartment building.
Every room has a view.
Here is a before photo…
The dining room two ways…
Here is the foyer before
Before the 1980’s kitchen cabinets were pickled pink.
Even though we are renting…my husband (and the owners)
agreed to let me paint them…
Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter.

Before living in San Francisco…
We remodeled a 1950’s Newport Beach cottage,
which we have kept and are renting it out.
Here is the living room before we installed new double paned French doors, an insulated ceiling and a new mantel.
The dining room before.
In the kitchen, we wanted to raise the ceiling and have better circulation.
You cannot tell it from the photo but the cabinets were falling apart.
Our pantry keeps small appliances handy but out of sight.
This was an unused space next to a load bearing wall on the left, so we made it into a beverage
center with an instant hot and cold tap.
Sitting area to keep the cook (thanks, Howard) company.
Our teen-aged son’s room before and after.
His bathroom before and after…
His bathroom was decorated with flea market finds.
We had to maximize storage in our tiny guest/daughter’s room.
Recently, she moved back home and we gave her the bed and bedding. Here’s how it looks now…
At the top of the stairs, we carved out a loft office space.
Below is before we added the wall which created
the office on the other side.
Back downstairs to the laundry room…
The cabinet above the baskets is a laundry chute from the master closet.
Thanks for taking the tour of our two homes!
