Here are great, less expensive gifts that practically everyone could use, especially ones who like to entertain.
My friend told me how her husband experiments every weekend with his Crate and Barrel Brie cheese baker (only $19.95)…making different renditions for appetizers.
I made one like the above with herbed sea salt and truffle oil… but just in a regular ramekin. It would be more fun with the baker.
I bet my friend’s husband might like this Wine Bite Cookbook.
Here are more fun things that are $25 or less… I’m looking out for your wallet! Great for Hostess gifts, too.
1. Chip and dip I like that the bowls can be used separately.
2. Black and Gold Enameled Tray Pretty to hold Champagne glasses or whatever.
3. Bottle stopper Cool stone.
4. personalized paper napkins Elegant and thoughtful.
5. Pedestal Nice simplicity for appetizers or dessert.
6. Salt and pepper bowls Charming out on the counter for a “pinch.”
7. Brie baker ‘Nough said 🙂
9. Black Truffle Oil Nice for the chef in your family.
10. Wooden Serving Board Always useful for appetizer platters.
12. Salad Hands We love ours.
13. Measuring cups Can use as prep bowls, too.
14. cloth cocktail napkins Elevates a little party.
15. Agate Bottle Opener Chic on bar.
16. Apron Uni-sex and cute.
17. Bottle stopper
18. Turkish dish towels Makes a statement hanging on the oven handle. Great sale price.
20. Four Pilsner Glasses You need these if you like beer and don’t have any!
If I am not back before Thanksgiving, I wish you and your family a peaceful, loving holiday. I am thankful you choose to stop by CCH. God bless you!

Man I was just down in Florida helping a friend accessorize and also set up her bar! I totally forgot about Crate and Barrel! It is one of my go to places here in Atlanta when shopping for clients. I have a few Christmas parties where I need hostess gifts so I might have to take a trip over there today or tomorrow!

Thanks for the great suggestions – as a one for me/one for them sort of shopper when it comes to kitchen and cooking items, I’ll be seeing some of these under the tree for myself, no doubt. Or I can tell my teenagers if they want me to cook dinner they have to bring a hostess gift, and leave a little stash for them to choose from.
Have a lovely Thanksgiving!

Ha! I just bought the Anthro towels for myself…and the cookbook for a friend. But I want everything else, too.
Happy Thanksgiving to you.

Great ideas here! A tea towel artfully tied around a bottle of wine (Japanese fabric wrap technique) is a great hostess gift.
On the brie, if you buy the kind that comes in a little balsa container, you can use that. Just remove the cheese from its plastic wrap and put it back in the balsa container and ser that on the grill or in the oven (in the oven you might want foil underneath for drips; on the grill those burn off).
But the brie baker is prettier.
Mary Ann says
That sounds fantastic with the balsa container…which is rarer here…But I remember how it was packaged from Meaux that way. We actually have some good Californian brie-type cheese now. (ha! like our wine industry). Brie on the grill! You are such a good entertainer. We have a gift wrapping post next Friday and I used your idea in a slightly different way.

This is great timing. I’ve started buying Christmas present, but there’s always a few challenge family members on the list. Thank you.

Wonderfully chic ideas. Thanks for the help. Cindy mentioned what great hostess gifts these would make. Great idea. It helps to read others comments. Now could I have a bite of that Brie?

Mary Ann, You don’t know how much I love this post. We are going to be with Kenny’s family for Thanksgiving
and my family for Christmas. We rotate every other year and when we see family at Thanksgiving, we exchange Christmas gifts then because we won’t see them at Christmas. I’ve been really struggling this year and your ideas have made my day! Since I don’t have much time, I’ll have to decide quickly which might be difficult since there are so many that are wonderful.
Thank you Mary Ann, you’re a life saver!
Happy Thanksgiving!
