“Success is a Job in New York”
…The name of the eau de parfum we purchased for our
daughter who works in New York
for her 23rd birthday.
Bond No. 9 ‘s fabulous, unisex fragrances are available at four stores in New York, and at Saks Fifth Avenue and Harrods.
The headquarters and address of Bond Street No. 9 is around the corner from where our daughter, Alexandra (aka Alie) went to school at NYU.
The store was a frequent after class diversion.
Bond’s mission: To restore artistry to perfumery, and to mark every New York neighborhood with a scent of its own.
I hope they skip “August in Midtown before Garbage Pick-up.”
Happily, I went to the Saks perfume counter, where I proceeded to try all the HEAVENLY complex scents. Some of the notes in “Success Is a Job in New York” are bergamot, cardamon seed, Mandarin, coriander, pimento and patchouli.
My favorite was…
“Washington Square”. This scent seemed more floral and light.
The sales person gave me lots of free samples with my purchase.
Go have some fun picking out your favorite scent. Even if you do not buy anything–you’ll walk out smelling great.
Speaking of New York,
here we are in our room at The Crosby Street Hotel in SoHo when we visited Alie last summer. Notice the great steel windows.
Our room design, and other rooms…
Fun colors, head boards, pillows and ottomans in each room.
Best wishes,
Mary Ann
And Happy Birthday, Alexandra

Mary Ann,
Thanks for your note on my last post. I'm not sure if you've visited before, but if so, I regret not immediately viewing your blog – it is absolutely fabulous. I've viewed every page and each little detail in every image. Your kitchen and bathroom makeovers are wonderful.
I love connecting with new people, especially those that I share common interests/ideas. I love your style. It's going to be very fun to 'follow' you.
